If you want to prevent the heat of router in an easy way you can use your computer's fan to cool. Attach the fan to the wireless, it will use the same power source of the wireless, you don't have to turn on or off the fan every time. What all you need for this are – fan, male jack similar to wireless jack, female jack similar to wireless jack, glue, solder some wire.

Or else you can buy an Ever cool Dr.Cool router cooler from the market. It is a cooler launched recently by Ever cool, which is an experienced maker of coolers for routers and ip sharing devices.

Hello Joanna,

I suppose that the reason why the router is heating up that much is because of poor ventilation in the room you have it in. I will suggest therefore then you get a fan and put inside that room to help in cooling the router as well as other devices that may be in that room to avoid overheating.

Regards,

Nicke
