Realtec sound card does not play

I have a realtec sound card that until recently refused to play sound, I have tried system restore, reinstalling but nothing seems to work. What else could be the problem? The icon for the sound displays a mute sigh but no unmuting is possible. Is there a way that I can rectify this?

Realtec sound card does not play

The reason why your realtec sound card is not working is because you have not installed the drivers that enable it to be compatible and work efficiently with your system. To solve this, simply browse over the internet and download the right drivers for the sound card and install them. Alternatively, download driver pack solution and run it, it will scan for missing drivers and install them. It will save you the hustle of browsing searching for the drivers which sometimes can be had to find.
