Read Only problem in MS Word

When ever I open MS word and write something and save it ,it works fine but the next time I press "Ctrl+S" the save as file pops up and when I choose the file again it shows the "read only"file error ,that the file is a read only file.

So what should I do ?

Read Only problem in MS Word

Hi there , 

I think you are having trouble with the MS word . 

Please note that while posting software related questions here please also add the details about the OS , its version and all then only we can tell you specifically otherwise we must tell the solution in general wise. 

And you didn't specified the version of your MS Word (office) also whether it is 2003 or 2007 or 2010 respectively .

Generally , follow my steps :- 

1. Go to the saved file , let the file be lesten.doc 
Make sure to open in windows explorer (not in MS word) 

2. Right click the file and click properties and then you can see a box

3. in that un'tick the read only checkbox 

4.Click apply and ok .
