I recently downloaded Resident Evil 5 on my Windows laptop. I was able to install the game on my computer successfully but when I try to launch the game, I get the re5dx9 exe error saying that xlive.dll was not found. Can someone help?

Let me inform you that to your relief, this is a particularly common error for users who have downloaded this game and are unable to play it. This error occurs when you are missing some Windows Live files and therefore in this case, due to missing xlive.dll you are unable to run the game.

The xlive.dll file comes as part of the Microsoft Windows Live package. Therefore, the thing you need to do is find out if this is installed on your computer. If you have windows live on your computer then check the version. If it is not the latest, then update it to the latest version. If it is the latest version, uninstall and install a fresh copy. This should solve your problem.
