QuArK needs the file materials from Half-Life2

I don’t see any problem regarding compatibility issue when using QuArK 6.6 Beta because it is compatible with any Microsoft Windows operating system. The oldest operating system where you can run it is Windows 95. Since the error is about a missing file, try finding the file in the indicated location in the error message.

Open Windows Explorer and go to “C:Program FilesValveSteamhl2”. Search for the file “dev_measuregeneric01b.vmt” supposedly inside the folder “materialsDev”. In case the folder is located in a different location or the missing file is found in a different folder, run QuArK again and specify the exact path of the file “dev_measuregeneric01b.vmt” in the configuration dialog box.

If the file is really missing and can’t be found in any folder, try reinstalling Half-Life 2 and then check if the file is restored. If the file is still not there, you can try either reinstalling Steam Client or update it to see if the file can be made available.
