Promoting a server to Domain controller

Hi

I am in a remote location and i have to promote a server to domain controller.How can we do that with a slow wan link.Thanks in advance.

Promoting a server to Domain controller

Dear Charles

 

Please follow the steps:

1.      Go to Active directory installation wizard and select create additional DC

2.      On the DC window type select Additional domain controller for an existing domain, and then click on next.

3.      Copying domain information window will open

4.      Select From these restored backup files and go the restored files, and click next.

5.      Network credentials window will open enter user name, password, user domain and click next.

6.      Database and Log Folders window will open enter the desired location of the database and log folders and go to next.

7.      Directory Services Restore Mode Administrator Password window will pop up, confirm the password that will be assigned to the administrator for the server and go to next.

8.      Finally restart your computer once and its done.
