Yes! when running more application at a time the speed of processor decreases. Because processor faces different problem when it calculate more application software at a time. Then it become slower than before.

When application software are running on a pc processor needs specific attention for each of the application and the result is slower unless it haven't high capacity. And yes! It also affect the battery life and performance of laptop.

for a example: When we watch normal video it run easily and cool. But when we watch a hd ( high definition ) videos it take time for the first time when it run and battery needs to supply more energy to run those video then it affect the battery life.

No, the speed of the processor doesn’t go down or become slower even if you open multiple applications. I think you are referring to the sudden slowness of the system whenever you open multiple programs. The sudden decrease of performance on your computer doesn’t mean that the processor decreased its speed.

The sudden slowdown of the computer is because of the multiple applications that are running simultaneously on your computer. The processor needs to divide or allocate a certain percentage of processing time between the programs running. So, if you have many programs simultaneously running on your computer, the processor needs to process all the requests of the programs and this slows down the computer.

The tasks that the processor processes are not only limited to the programs you open. It includes the operating system, the different services and programs it runs in the background plus all the applications you’ll be running while using the computer. Running multiple applications simultaneously affects the life of the battery because it consumes more power than normal like when it is in idle mode or when you are using only 1 application.
