Hello Sam Milb,

Have you tried using the task manager to see if there are any processes running? If not yet, then try pressing control+alt +delete on your keyboard and see if there any programs that are running.

Did the problem start recently or you have been experiencing it for a much longer time, because if it started recently then it might be caused by an action that you did that might have affected the operating system and thus causing it to freeze.

If you can access the system restore then try restoring the system to a previous state before that incident occurred, or you could also try running the system in safe mode and see if you can access the desktop icons.

Hope this helps.

Hi Sam,

Try to return your old settings maybe you downloaded a malecious ware on the internet if you used internet on your previous job. Reboot your computer and press F8 on the restart. Choose "previous settings that work" on the Windows try to observe it first if there will be changes. Repeat the whole process if no progress, choose " Safe Mode" on the Windows observe if it change if not then the only option is to reinstall your Operating Systems or Reformat your CPU then install new OS. You can also try remove those malecious program you recently download to the internet, you can check the history by Histoty Tab. Playing Videos on the net are no.1 dangerous application especially if you don't freeze your computer, or you didn't a virus scanner installed on your System. Other advise is your Operating Systems should be genuine so that anytime you make an update it automatically update your system unlike using not genuine which is riskty.

Thanks,
