Problems while using backup exec version 12.5 for backups of software

Hello friends,

I have recently started using backup exec version 12.5 for backups of my software, but I am facing problems with that. I have also removed the media and changed to a scratched media, but the problem persists.

I also tried to test a backup, but still, I failed. Each time I get the error code E0008703.

The screenshot of the error is attached below:

 

I don’t know what this error code means. Please help me get rid of this error. I'll be really grateful.

This occurs because you did not initialize the media. To solve your problem make sure the following steps.

Step 1:

Run an actual backup job on the new media.  

Step 2:

When backup job completed successfully then it is the time to check the media operation. Then run a test job on that backup job and I think it will complete successfully.

Hey Alex,

There are two possible reasons for that error occurring.

The first reason, there might be insufficient media in the backup device. The fix that check that all media you are trying to move to the backup is over writable able.

The second reason that might be happening is because the backup device specified has not been written to before. Make sure you have specified all targets to allow the Test Run job to perform a media check.
