Problems connecting with Vodafone software and Win7 64bit

I installed Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. The install and computer worked very well, but I eventually ran into a problem a week ago. I've tried uninstalling and re-setting up the software, but I can't seem to manage to get onto the web. It is really important that I have this setup since I will be traveling throughout South Africa where Vodafone has service.
I've tried talking with technical support, but the gentleman who has been helping me has not been as successful in getting my issue resolved.
During the install, the laptop didn't recognize the device. He told me to try uninstalling and reinstalling, I did that but it still doesn't seem to work. I still haven't managed to get it working and it seems to continuously have problems when trying to connect.
Has anybody been able to setup the Vodafone software successfully with Win 7 Pro 64?
