Problem with Windows 7 Pro any help

Hi Experts ,

I tried to install Windows 7 PRO X86 on the laptop to upgrade Windows Vista operating system. But when its finalizing the installation, the computer froze. So tried restarting the computer hoping that the installation would continue, but it failed.

I tried setting up the BIOS to boot from CD/DVD drive because it keeps on asking if I want to boot in safe mode or normally and whatever I chose, I keep on getting “please insert installation CD to continue”.

I tried restarting it again but I got a Windows loading up over and over again.

I tried to use a different Windows Operating installation CD but still doesn’t work. Please help me with this.

Thanks!

Hi Adeleon,

The problem could be occurring as a result of a corrupt operating system, but seems like you have already verified that it is fine.

Another possible cause could be your DVD drive, clean it of any dust that may be blocking it from reading the data properly from the DVD, and check to ensure that the cable connecting the DVD drive to the motherboard is on good condition.

Also ensure that you are not trying to install a windows 7 version that is not supported by the system that you are using.

Check if the system supports a 64 bit or 86 bit, because if it meant for a 64 bit and you are trying to install an 86 bit operating system then such errors are likely to occur.

Hi Adeleon,

If you are using an original version of windows vista, then you should have used the Upgrade option of windows.

It will not delete any of your data saved in you hard disk. If you can enter in your vista OS then try this Upgrade potion. And select the hard disk as your 2nd boot device in your BIOS. If this doesn't work then try a custom installation of windows 7 (ordinal) in your computer.

That means you won't upgrade windows vista to windows 7. You will have to install a fresh copy of windows 7 by formatting the installation drive. And you didn't mentioned the duration of that your computer froze.

Wait for 1-2 hrs.

Sometimes when your computer configuration is low, windows 7 takes much time to finalize the installation then usual.

I need to know have you ever make a format to your drive because in this case you need to make a full format to your drive where you want to install your new window and it will work fine. Although if you are still getting the problem then check that you have a valid DVD and it is fully working in this case.

Also make sure that your computer supports the version of the window you are going to install.

Then you will be able to solve your problem. In case you are not able to install the window then replace the CD with a new one and it will work fine. It is easy to install the window 7 and i hope that you have all the experience to renew your window operating system. Just you need to make a full format and it will work fine in your case.

I hope that this will help you a lot and you will be able to solve your problem.
