Print Service Manager Error Message

Hi Everybody Here,

I have a problem concerning my printer. It is Canon PIXMA MP 160.

I have just got the new printer above and it didn’t work when I used it.

I have Vista Operating system on my laptop.

The problem began when I started to install the printer on my laptop, I put the CD in CD-ROM, and then I clicked on install, and then the following message appeared to me:

Print Service Manager

Print service has been stopped.

When I restarted the laptop and then began to install again, I found the same problem.

I don’t know what to do, I think that it is not a problem from the printer because it is new and first use. I think that it is a problem with the connection between the software of the printer and the operating system of my laptop.

Any help please?

Dear James,

You are right; there is no problem in printer. First of all, in your question, it is not clear that which operating system you are using either it is vista-32 bit or vista-64 bit. 32 and 64 bit used different driver.

Any how, you can download your required driver from here

In drop down list, you can select and download your required driver.

Remember one thing, when you installing your printer, turn switch on of your printer and your USB cable must be attached with your computer.

Hope it will help you.

Stephy

In Windows Vista/7, click Start button, type in search text field above it “services.msc” and hit Enter on your keyboard. In Windows XP, click Start button, then click on Run, type services.msc and click OK button.

Now scroll down the list of service, and check for the Print spooler service. Click right mouse button on it and select Start. If Start option is shadowed and cannot be clicked, go to Properties, and in “General” tab in Startup type choose “Automatic”. Restart your computer, and you should be able to install your printer.

If this is a new printer, make sure the driver software is installed before you can use it. It won’t work and you will not be able to use it if there is no driver installed because the system will not be able to identify and access the device. Normally, there is a setup CD included in the package when you buy a printer.

In case there is no CD in the package, you can always download the driver from the manufacturer’s website. To get the latest driver for your printer, go to PIXMA MP160. The page should detect your operating system automatically. If the page shows a different operating system, click to change then select your correct operating system from the dropdown list.

Just download and install the driver software for your printer.
