Hi,

Today when launched Steamup for Counter Strike this warning message appeared. I don’t know what it means since it worked fine until today, is for the first time when I have this kind of error. I have made some searched on the internet about this error and nothing useful found. Can anyone help me to solve this error ? What happened with my game and why I have this kind of error ?

Thanks !

As far as Counter-Strike is concerned, the game is playable only on Microsoft Windows XP. Though there are users who managed to play it on Windows Vista, I’m not sure if it’ll work on all users since there are always system differences. And if you are using Windows 7 and higher, don’t expect it to run because it is also unsupported.

You can try another method by running the game in compatibility mode to Windows XP and most of the time this method worked. So try running Counter-Strike in compatibility mode to Windows XP if you have Windows Vista and higher. Another possible reason why it is throwing that error is a problem in the Steam Client.

Try reinstalling Steam Client and run Counter-Strike again via Steam then see if this works. To make sure there’s no problem with the installer, download a fresh copy of the installer from Install Steam Now. For Windows XP users who are still having problems with Counter-Strike make sure you are running Counter-Strike 1.6 and not earlier versions.
