Hi-ya,

I am getting this odd error message when I try to open a project, which I did in older version Adobe Premiere. Recently I updated Adobe Premiere Elements to latest version 11. I am not a technical person and do not have in depth knowledge in Adobe. Do I need to update any drivers or plugin? I am not sure about what is going on. Please suggest me some solutions. Thanks.

Supposedly even if you are running Microsoft Windows 8 you wouldn’t have a problem because it is still supported. For Adobe Premiere Elements 11, it supports Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Media Center, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. For Windows Vista, it runs native in x86 compatibility mode on x64 operating systems.

For Windows 8, it runs native on both x86 and x64 operating systems. Adobe Premiere Elements 11 also runs on Mac OS X and it requires Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard until Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks is not supported. Since it is not a compatibility issue, try reinstalling the application.

Uninstall Adobe Premiere Elements 11, restart your computer, and install it back. Run it again and see if it is successful. If not, check if you have other Adobe products installed on your computer. Uninstall all Adobe products including Adobe Flash Player, Adobe Flash Player ActiveX, and Adobe Shockwave Player in case you have them.

After that, click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and select Disk Cleanup. Select drive C and click OK. Check “Temporary files”, click OK, and wait for it to finish and then restart your computer. Next, install Adobe Premiere Elements 11 and run it afterwards. If it successfully runs, install the rest of Adobe products one at a time and after each install run Adobe Premiere Elements 11 to see if the error can appear again.

Of course, if the error is reproduced after installing a particular Adobe product, remove that Adobe product and don’t install it anymore because it is in conflict with Adobe Premiere Elements 11.
