PowerPivot for Excel Setup error

Hi,

I recently started using PowerPivot and have successfully installed it on my Windows XP Operating System. Now I am trying to install the add-in but the cryptic pop-up message appears on the screen as you can see the attached image. I am unable to install this so waiting for an expert’s advice. Would you please help me. Thanks.

PowerPivot for Excel Setup error

Hi John,

This error while trying to install PowerPivot usually occurs due to admin rights issues on your computer. I would suggest you verify if you are the admin and have all the rights or permissions. If you are unable to install PowerPivot still, try creating a new user profile on the machine giving yourself the admin account and then proceed to install PowerPivot. You should be able to successfully install the software after these steps.
