Pop Up Hard Drive Error? Malware Causing it?

I have been getting a pop up error on my computer for months that says my hard drive is having problem and to reformat the drive. I am concerned this is a type of malware that has gotten into my system. Do I need to run a scan to remove or is my drive having problems?

You should first update your anti virus before re scanning the whole computer, If the error still pop ups try another anti virus. However, this might be a hardware problem too. As a pre-caution, back up all your data in an external storage before the hard disk fails completely to avoid losing your data.
