Planning to mix types of Memory to upgrade RAM

have one DDR3 1333 MHz RAM and would like to upgrade the size RAM with another memory with 800 MHZ one. The processor is Intel i5 and is 2008 Make. Is there any problem in using the RAM of same size but different clock speed? Will the processor adapt for two different speeds and accept the RAM? Will there be any hardware problem arising because of different speed RAM? Are there settings in BIOS to indicate the size and other properties of RAM such as clock sped, type, Maximum supported frequency etc

Mixing of RAM’s are not preferred because it will lead in slowing down your system. Actually your system will go for the lowest clock speed. Which means that the 1333Hz RAM will be slowed down to 800Hz clock. That means the RAM capacity will be increased with the addition of new RAM but you net performance efficiency will be reduced. Also your system may be designed for 1333Hz speed and when it is brought down to low speed it affects the life of PC.
