Hello TechyV buddies!

I am having some problem using picasa. Every time I load picasa it always give me a warning about an overload. After that warning the picasa won’t open. The error message is this:

“CBlockFile::Restore err=2, thumbs2_index.db”

I have tried deleting some photos and videos but none of them worked. Can anyone help solve this problem? Thank you!

Maybe your Picasa database is corrupted so you need to rebuild it. To do this, follow the steps below:

You need to uninstall your Picasa, your photos will not be deleted. Picasa keeps a record on each photo with the information such as location of the files, unsaved edits made, album organizations and previews of the images.

Now click Start > All Programs > select Picasa 3 > Select Uninstall > Click Uninstall on the confirmation window and then click the Yes button to remove the database. When done with uninstalling, Download and reinstall Picasa here.

Picasa, at the moment, has been discontinued. It was originally created by Lifescape in 2002 and in July 2004, Lifescape sold Picasa to Google and started offering it as freeware. Google offered native applications for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 including OS X. To create an installation package for Linux, Google bundled Wine with the Windows version.

Google announced on February 12, 2016 that it will be discontinuing support for Picasa Desktop and Web Albums effective on March 15, 2016 and Google will be focusing on its successor, the cloud-based Google Photos. On May 1, 2016, Picasa Web Albums which is a companion service was closed. For more information about Picasa and how to recover your photos, go to Moving on from Picasa.
