Physical address and logical address in networking

Hello

In network system there are two types of address. Those two are logical addressing and physical addressing.

Physical address:

Physical address also recognized as the link address is the address of node as defined by is LAN or WAN.

Physical address is incorporated in the frame used by the data link layer. It is the lowest level address.

Logical Address:

Logical addresses are essential for universal communications that are independent of underlying physical networks.

Physical addresses are not suitable in an internetwork environment where different networks can have different address format.

Thank You,

John Major.
