PhotoSmart C 8180 Error Code 20716909

I have been using PhotoSmart C 8180 printer to print and organize my photos and albums. Recently PhotoSmart stopped working and when I try to reinstall it the set up fails midway. I am using Windows XP. See the error image and suggest solutions.

Try to rollback the installation setup, reboot and start in safe mode. 

Go to control panel and close all instances of PS in Task manager then uninstall. It should prompt custom uninstall or full. Select full then click Next then Finish. After uninstalling, run registry utility tools such as Registry Mechanic to fix the undeleted registry entries. Then restart.

You should be able to fresh reinstall Photosmart again.

If you already tried reinstalling your printer software but it didn’t work and fails halfway, it probably indicates a problem in the system and not with the software. First, try to uninstall the printer software again. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install it. Once installed, start Revo then select your HP Photosmart among the applications and click “Uninstall”.

Follow the normal uninstall process. When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and delete everything it finds. This removes everything the program created on your computer. When it is finished, exit Revo then download the free version of CCleaner and install it. Once installed, start CCleaner and clean your system.

When it is finished, restart the computer then download the printer software from the HP website: HP Photosmart C8180 All-in-One Printer. Download and install all applicable drivers and software. If this is not your operating system, click to change and select your correct operating system.
