I installed MS Flight Simulator and chose to run from CD because it saves my hard disk space. But now when I open a new software it displays "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive D"

Error Message: There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive D.

This can happen if:

  • There is a removable drive that was configured as drive C
  • There is no removable disk in the removable disk drive

To have this resolve:

  • Insert a removable disk in the removable drive
  • Change the drive assignment for the removable drive other than C

To change the drive assignment:

  1. Log on to your computer as an Administrator
  2. Insert a disk in your removable drive
  3. Go to START
  4. Right click on MY COMPUTER
  5. Choose MANAGE
  6. Click on DISK MANAGEMENT
  7. Right click on the partition, logical drive, or volume which you would like to change
  8. Click CHANGE DRIVE LETTER AND PATHS
  9. Click your removable drive
  10. Click on CHANGE
  11. Choose the drive you would like to use
  12. Hit OK

Hi Dear,

This is not the computer's fault, it is yours.

As you said, you have chosen the CD Drive because it saves your hard disk space, so when you want to run this software, the CD needs to be in the drive if you want to fix this problem.

Reinstall this software, and choose Hard Disk to install it as the target location.

I hope this helps. Thanks.
