Outlook mail attachment not opening

Microsoft Outlook 2007 is the one that I use in sending and receiving emails. My friend sent me an email yesterday that has an attachment that I couldn’t open.  I asked her to send it again and still not opening. It is a word file that has information about her business proposal.

I have Win 7 that has MS Office 2007 installed on it. Other emails that have an attachment are opening. That is the only attachment I could not open. I didn’t touch any settings on outlook.

I am open to any possible solutions you might have. Thank you.

Outlook mail attachment not opening

1. Change the Mail format to HTML. There are two options you can do this one for one the mail you want to change ———- go to the OPTION and the format button select the HTML. and if you want to do it as for DEFAULT format for all the emails  change its as follows…………..   Tools  then go to OPTION then go to Mail format and select HTML.
2. You can also do the following way.. save the attachment in the Desktop. Click the right button go to the Properties and change the file extension like … doc or docx or xls or xlsx. 
3. Please check the Extension contains any other symbols rather than doc or docx or xls or xlsx. If it contains, kindly rename it like .doc or docx or xls or xlsx

Outlook mail attachment not opening

You can follow this path to open your attachment file: Go to File menu and click Save attachment Here specify the folder where you want to keep this file now click OK.

If it does not work in any case then first make sure your friend does not send you a virus infected file if so then this will not open because it is a option to open a virus infected file or not. To check this start outlook and go to tools menu now click options select the security tab and click the do not Allow attachments to save which contain ……….
