Outlook Keeps on Error Messaging of Deleting Message

In our network, we are using Windows XP Pro Special Pack 3. An error message is showing in a lot of workstations which says: “Outlook Express have to delete messages to clear the space”. Even if it seems not a big issue some of users are getting annoyed by this message. If anybody knows how to solve issue, please let me know.

Outlook Keeps on Error Messaging of Deleting Message

Hi Martha,

You may need to reset the compact count on the registry of the computer. To do this, try to do the steps below:

·         Go to Start > Run > Type regedit ;

·         Open and go to the key below. Identities is made up of strings of numbers and letters: HKEY_CURRENT_USERIdentities{identity}SoftwareMicrosoftOutlook Express5.0 ;

·         Set the value of the Compact Check Count option to 0;

·         Close the registry editor;

·         Restart the computer

You can also make sure to check on your Internet Explorer Tools option > Internet options > Programs and check that Outlook Express is not set as the default mail program.
