I am looking for a mobile device that has an Out-of-Office Email feature. This feature will be useful if I am out of reach and could not answer my emails instantly. I am currently using BlackBerry with BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) installed on it. However, I don't know the advantages of having this installed on my phone. Will it help me on my query? If not, what other application can I use?
Out-of-Office App for BlackBerry with BES
The Out Of Office Feature is available on BlackBerry devices connected to a BlackBerry Enterprise Server. Without knowing which BlackBerry device you are using, I can only give you a very generic answer. Note that there are minor differences depending on the model of your device, but I will try not to be too specific.
To switch on Out Of Office reply:
1. In the home screen, select the messages icon and press the menu key
2. Select Options, then Email settings.
3. Find the “Use Out Of Office Reply” and change the value to Yes.
This should enable a text box in which you can type up your out of office reply, or modify the out of office reply already present.
For certain email clients, such as Lotus Notes, you will need to enter an end/until date.
4. Save your changes and your out of office feature is now enabled.
