The code ‘ser’ indicates that the safe needs service. After five wrong attempts, the safe will be locked for 30 minutes. If it is a hotel safe, then the Elsafe must have Safelink. An infrared remote is there for emergencies like this.

If this is at your home, you would have an e-key given at the time of purchase which can open the safe even without the password. In the worst case, if you don’t have an e-key, you can contact your dealer or you can also talk to Elsafe directly.

If you have an Elsafe electronic in-room safe and you see the “ser” code displayed on the LCD and it is not taking your password, it means the safe requires service and you may have a little problem with the safe box. With Elsafe safe box, there will be a 30-minute delay until the next entry after five (5) incorrect entries in succession.

If this is a safe box in a hotel, you need to go to the concierge to get it unlocked. This also shouldn’t be a problem because Elsafe safe box includes a SafeLink, an infrared remote that unlocks the safe box in case of emergencies.
