I just bought a Wii and I know it is a dated system. But there are a lot of games that I have always wanted to play on the Wii. The first thing that I noticed is that you have component cables, is there another way I can connect my Wii to my TV. Also the max resolution is only 480p. Can this be upped?

The Wii console can be connected to a TV using the AV cables. Here’s how. On your TV either at the back or on the side, locate a set of yellow, white, and red terminals labeled “Input”. Connect the AV multi out plug of the Wii AV cable to the AV multi out connector or port located at the back of the Wii console. See image.

The other end of the cable that has the 3 colored connectors should be connected to the input terminal at the back of your TV according to its designated color. The yellow connector is for the video input, the white is for the audio left input, and the red connector is for the audio right input.

Once the cable is connected, turn on the console then find Input Select for the TV to view the game. Usually, you can find it by pressing the TV/Video button on the TV remote control. This is the same button you used when you are watching DVD on your TV using your DVD player.
