NovaPDF OEM long url web page error

Hi,

We’re currently using “novaPDF OEM” and some of our users have reported problems printing from certain pages. Later on, implementing some tests, we have discovered that the browser Internet Explorer version 9 have been passing the URL (full) as a name of the parent document if the page doesn’t contain the value for the title tag.

As web applications often have a large number of URLs as parameters, it will in some cases will definitely exceed the limitation of windows file name (255 characters) and thus an error will be generated.

We have created this so far in a test page again and have seen the name of the long document along with the error message (shown at the screenshot) from one of the pdf drivers. The characteristics (behavior) of the URL are observed in browsers of IE9, Firefox, or Chrome though not in IE 7 or 8.

NovaPDF OEM long url web page error

Hello Edward M Mundt,

You can easily resolve the problem by just some of the simple steps all you need is to follow some of the instruction there and you can get rid of it. Go to the start menu and after that you have to open the "Run " utility from there. After that you have to paste there "msconfig". Now a dialog box appear and now you have to go to the "General tab" and you have to goto "selective startup" and remove the check from "Load startup items". After that you have to reboot your Pc and you can get rid of that.

NovaPDF OEM long url web page error

 

Hello,

It is best to install novaPDF OEM using command line parameters to achieved silent installation. Silent means no windows displayed during installation. Name the printer MyPrinter and the box of your application name MyApplicationName. These hidden files will be stored in hidden files.  If you want you can also try installing novaPDF SDK.
