Hi there,

I opened Notepad ++ and after a while this error appeared. I opened it again and it worked just fine. The problem is that I have this error after a long work and sometimes I lose everything. Does anyone have a solution for this error ? What is causing it ?

Thank you !

I think what you mean is the error in Notepad++ appears randomly. Since you are using Windows 7, check if your current Notepad++ supports your operating system. To make sure you are using the latest version, download Notepad++ 6.6.3. It supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. This version is surely compatible with your operating system.

When installing the latest version don’t upgrade the current version you have. Replace it by manually uninstalling the current version and then installing the latest version. So, once it is downloaded, uninstall the existing application then click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then Disk Cleanup. Select drive C and click OK. Check “Temporary files”, click OK, and then click Delete Files.

Restart your computer and install the latest version you just downloaded, Notepad++ 6.6.3. Start Notepad++ and see if the error appears. But like what you said, the error appears in random so it would probably not appear instantly if there is still a problem. In case it does appear, run the program as administrator to give it full permission.

Right-click Notepad++ on your desktop and then select Properties. Select Compatibility tab and check “Run this program as an administrator” under “Privilege level” and then click OK. See if it works.
