Norton Ghost 15 installation error

Hi,

My troubles start with trying to upgrade from Norton Ghost 14 to Ghost 15. I’ve tried installing it on my Windows 7 Professional and I got the following error message:

“Norton Ghost Installer Information

ERROR: Failed to have success running InstallVSSProvider function in MSIInstallVSSProvider Function.”

I’ve tried contacting the support but they haven’t replied yet so I’m becoming impatient. If anyone has a solution please post as soon as possible. Thanks very much.

Norton Ghost 15 installation error

Hi there,

Just follow the steps given on Download Link. Steps are for Norton ghost 14 but they also work for installation of 15 .

And if you want to check VSS writer services do this:

1) Click >> Start

2) Write >> “cmd” hit enter!

3) On command prompt type “vssadmin list writers” + hit enter.

Post any other queries if arises. Also I will recommend you to register with the Norton support and you can check forum anytime for the similar problems. Norton techs might take time to answer the question, so be patient.

Norton Ghost 15 installation error

Hey Nathan,

Unfortunately Norton Ghost 15 does not work on Operating System Windows 7 Professional version.

It is working only with Windows Vista and Windows XP operating systems.

Therefore, you need to have either Windows Vista or Windows XP to run Norton Ghost 15.

Please follow following steps –

1. Download Windows Vista from this source or

Windows XP from this source,

2. Install such operating system,

3. Download Norton Ghost 15 from https://uk.norton.com/,

4. Install it.

Norton Ghost 15 installation error

Since you are upgrading from version 14 to version 15 of Norton Ghost, make sure the newer version is compatible with your computer. For Norton Ghost 15, it supports Windows XP (Home or Professional), Windows Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, or Ultimate), and Windows 7 (Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate).

It requires 300 MHz or faster processor, 512 MB RAM, 430 MB free space, and 800 x 600 minimum screen resolution. It supports the following file systems: FAT16, FAT16X, FAT32, FAT32X, NTFS, GPT or GUID Partition Table, and Dynamic Disks. If you verify that your system is perfectly compatible, visit Revo Uninstaller then download and install the free version.

Once installed, start Revo Uninstaller then select Norton Ghost 14 from the list. Click “Uninstall” then follow the instructions to completely remove everything the program created on your computer. After this restart your computer and run the installer for Norton Ghost 15 to install the newer version. If you cannot perform an upgrade on the program, uninstall it and then install the new version.
