Hi. I have been trying to connect my Windows 2000 based PC to the Windows 2000 domain. However, when I type in the name and password of the account so as to join the domain, I get an error message saying: “the network location cannot be reached.” Can you please help resolve the issue?

Well, if you are getting this error message “the network location cannot be reached”, it is probably because TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper Service is not in operation on your PC. So to solve it, you will have to initiate the TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper Service and then join the domain. The steps to do the same will include you having to log on to your PC by using the account which has administrative privileges. Next, click on “start”, then”run”, and after typing “services.msc” in the box, click on “OK”. After a list of services opens, double click on TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper Service. In the “Startup list”, click on automatic and apply the settings. In service status, click on “start” to initiate the service. After the service starts, click on “OK” and exit. Your problem will be solved.
