Netgear wg111v2 wireless USB not detecting internet connection status

I just purchased and installed a 2.4 GHz Netgear WG111v2 wireless USB that has the 54 Mbps Data Transfer Rate and 128 bit WEP encryption.  It can not detect my internet connection status.  Do I have to update the driver?  Thanks in advance.

Hi Elias,

 

You are right. Updating the driver is one of the things I would suggest.

 

I would also recommend releasing and renewing your IP address. Here are the steps to do this:

1) Enter the command prompt window.

2) type

ipconfig /release

then

ipconfig /renew

 

If this doesn’t fix the problem, try resetting the wireless router and also your computer.

 

Finally, if these don’t work, contact Netgear support.
