Nero avc encoding not in sync

I'm using Nero Recode 3 to encode AVC (mpeg-4) files on Windows 7.  After encoding a 1080i file, why is it that the video and audio not in sync?  Does a Nero avc encoding codec solve this?

I think you are converting a lower quality video to a higher quality video…
 
Sync problems can also be caused by the audio format you choose. (I suggest using the original format)
 
If problems about audio sync still occurs, there might have been some changes to the program your using.
 
Like updates or your configurations and settings. 
 
Try to uninstall Nero and remove all of its other files and then re-install it.
