Need suggestions on using my iPhone as GPS and Camera

Hi everybody,

I am using iPhone 5S with Motion X installed in it. I am thinking to use this mobile as a GPS and camera without using cellular service. But, I heard that it may not be possible to use the GPS without cell service.

Can somebody confirm whether I can use the GPS service on my cell phone without having cell service? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello Robert,

GPS works on the principal that your phone can be discovered by satellite signals. This has no connection with cell service. Provided that your phone has pre-loaded maps, GPS can work without data connection as well.  The issue is without cell service or WiFi services,  accuracy of GPS will be less. Cell network and WiFi can track your location so accuracy of your current position will be improved. 

Roughly it can take upto 15 minutes in case you don't have cell service to determine your location compare to what you have with cell service enabled (2 minutes approx)
