Need help with winamp remote control client

Hi there

I am interested to control my winamp media player with the help of my android app. I already install winamp remote control client but it shows some error. The apps show the "port already connected" what can i do now to solve this problem. If anyone knows i would be grateful.

Need help with winamp remote control client

When you see the message "Port already connected"then it means that another program uses the port for Winamp.

To resolve this problem, you need to choose or specify another port for the Winamp plugin and the application installed or make sure that ports 8086 and 8087 are accessible. You can try checking your firewall settings and verify that there is a security exception for Winamp.

 

You may follow these as guide when checking your firewall. Open your firewall settings (depends on the type of Operating System that you are using)

 

Check the Application rule –> Firewall/Network Security Policy/Application Rules and the Global Rule –> Firewall/Network Security Policy/Global Rules

Application Name: aWARemote Server.exe (This is for the application to receive inbound requests)

Action: Allow

Protocol: TCP

Direction: In

Source Address: Enter the IP Address of your phone

Destination Address: Enter the MacAddress or IP Address of your computer.

Source Port: You may enter any port number

Destination Port: 8769 (default port) or you may use the port stated above.

 

You may also assign a static IP Address for your computer or just simply turn your firewall settings off.
