Hello Experts,

When I try to install the Microsoft Office in the computer, I got a weird error message, which is completely new to me. I am not a technical person so finding some kind difficulty in solving this problem. I really do not understand the root cause of this issue. How to run the 32-bit set up to install office? Is there any alternate procedure to solve this error message? Please help. Thanks.

We can’t install the 64-bit version of Office because we found the following 32-bit programs on your PC:

 Office 15 Click-to-Run Extensibility Component

Please uninstall all 32-bit Office programs, then retry installing 64-bit Office. If you want to install 32-bit Office instead, please run the 32-bit setup.

Need advise to run the 32-bit set up to install office

Hello,

MS Office is a nice product but there are certainly some rules to install this product. Your PC already contains another version of MS Office product that is conflicting with the setup and generating such error.

You can’t install any 64-bit Office product if you already have installed any 32-bit Office product. The error message indicates that you have “Office 15 Click-to-Run Extensibility Component” installed as 32-bit application. You have to uninstall the product first to install the 64-bit Office product. Both 32-bit and 64-bit Office applications can’t work together so uninstalling the older one is required.

You can use this Microsoft Fix It tool to uninstall existing installation of MS Office 2013 or Office v15 products. For manually removing, you can get help from this Microsoft KB.

After the uninstallation is complete, you will be able to install 64-bit Office easily.
