Hi,

My Windows Vista has encountered a problem. It has thrown an awful error message.

Have a look at the screenshot below. It has strongly encouraged upgrading to GNU/Linux.

What does it mean?

Have you any idea for the issue? Please help.

Thanks in advance.

The theme you have selected is a theme from GNU or Linux. You must have to install GNU compatibility to your Windows Vista to remove the error from your desktop.

Hi Olivia,

Does this message show up every time?

If not, then let me tell you that, Windows Vista is the home of some of the world's worst error messages.

And this usually happens due to Windows Vista's weak security measures.

Check out this link:

If this error message continues to show up, then you might try repairing your Windows using the Windows Vista CD.

1. Put your CD/DVD in your optical drive.

2. Double-click your CD/DVD Drive.

3. Click "install now"

4. After setup completes copying its temporary files and starts the installation process, Click "Repair".

5. If asked for the activation key, Use the key written in your CD/DVD case.

6. After setup completes repairing Windows Vista. Try using Media Centre again.

If the problem still persists, try switching to Windows 7.

Windows 7 is better than Vista with very good security.

Hello Olivia,

That is possibly just a bug in the Windows Vista application which could be resolved by using the following means:

  • Running the windows updater to update any vista components that might be out of date and as a result causing the issue.
  • You can as well just do a reinstallation of windows vista.

Regards,

Nicke
