An unknown error has occurred. It displays the following:

Server: 'smtp.talktalk.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80070057
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): No

This message has been appearing since last Wednesday while I was using Windows Live Mail on Windows 7. I ran a virus scan last Tuesday night and on Wednesday, my email failed respond properly anymore. I can’t send anything but I am able to receive emails. I've tried to type in the email address manually and I was able to send one email but after that, it stopped working again.

So how can I get rid of this problem? Thanks for the help.

An antivirus installed in your Windows is causing this error. To get rid of the problem, one of the things you can do is restart your Windows Live Mail and create another email account since your existing email has been corrupted. You should also disable email scanning in the antivirus;

However, doing so may not be enough to resolve the issue. Another is to uninstall and replace your existing antivirus software with available free antivirus in the Microsoft website (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14210/security-essentials-download). You can also update your Windows Live Mail to avoid this kind of errors.
