My Tom Tom 6 02 keeps giving me dark screen.

Hallo Good People! I have a Tom Tom 6 02 which I use for my navigation in Utrecht, Netherlands. However, I have been having problems with it since there are times the screen goes completely black. I need this to be sorted out but I first think it is best to ask if there is anyone who ever experienced that and which solution was found. Could it be a software problem? Thanks in advance.

Hello Janajacobb,

The screen could go black between route instructions in your Tom Tom. It is found in the Brightness Preferences or in the Battery Preferences option in the Change Preference menu. Please have a check whether it is selected or not.

Hi,

It looks some of the settings of your tom tom  needs  to change to solve this problem.

Follow these steps:

1)    Tap on Change Preferences and then on Battery Saving Preferences – untick the option to dim the screen between instructions.

2)    Go to change preferences/ Safety Preferences and  uncheck the  checkbox for "Hide map above a certain speed" .

3)    There is one more  Battery saving preferences screen – Switch off when external power is lost – untick this also.

If still the problem persists then the issue may be in your hardware you may need to replace this.Talk to your customer service.
