My Line in port doesn’t work

I am an audio engineer. I need the line in port everytime. But my line in option doesn't work at all now. It is totally vanished. It doesn't show at my audio panel totally. What do i do? Is there any alternative way to use line in? Please help. I am in serious trouble.

My Line in port doesn’t work

You need to see if you can get sound out on your headphones and if you can get sound in without the port.  If you can still hear out of your headphones, then the port is broken.  You can plug your equipment in through a USB.  Go to this link.  This will bypass the line in port.

If this does not work, then there is something wrong with the drivers to your sound card and subsequently port.  Make sure all of your drivers are up to date.  If this does not work, then something happened with the initial software.  Check for viruses, malware, etc.  Then reinstall your operating system.  If this still does not fix your situation then the sound card is probably dead and it needs to be replaced. good luck =)
