I am using windows 7 in my laptop. I am facing trouble in my laptop with its screen resolution. My screen resolution is 1920*1200 which is so high. It makes so many problems. It is making the text size so small that is now very hard to read. I am asking a help from someone about this matter. What really I can do about it?

Hi,

I have read the issue that you have and here are some solution that might help you:

  • Click the 'Start' button located at the lower left corner of the screen.
  • A windows will load up click the 'Control Panel' on the list of the programs.
  • Click ‘Appearance and Personalization'.
  • On the appearance and Personalization screen, we need to click Adjust screen resolution.
  • Click the drop-down menu next to Resolution.
  • Move the slider to the resolution you want, you can test it until you reach the resolution that you want.
  • Click Apply.

Here are the monitor sizes and the compatible resolution:

  • 19-inch screen (standard ratio): 1280 x 1024 pixels
  • 20-inch screen (standard ratio): 1600 x 1200 pixels
  • 22-inch screen (widescreen): 1680 x 1050 pixels
  • 24-inch screen (widescreen): 1900 x 1200 pixels

If you change the screen resolution, all users who log on to the computer will be affected. If you set your monitor to a resolution that the computer won't support, the screen will go black for a few seconds while the monitor goes back to the original resolution.

I have some other solutions to the issue that you have and information that might be helpful with the issue. The problem with the resolution often arises when you connect your laptop to a larger monitor and plays a video or other media. High and low resolution refers to the concentration of dots or pixels in a digital display or printed images and documents.

The higher the resolution the more crisp the image because the image is made up of tiny pixels so then the size of an image is determined through how large its resolution is. If you’re going to resize the image beyond the limit of its resolution, it will cause the image to be grainy or pixilated.

  1. Right-click a blank space on your desktop.
  2. A menu will appear on the screen, we just need to Click "Properties."
  3. Then the display properties window will load up on your screen.
  4. Look and Click the "Settings" tab at the top part of the window.
  5. Look for the screen resolution section and the select it.
  6. Click the "Screen Resolution Meter".
  7. Drag your mouse pointer to the left for the resolution to change.
  8. If you're done adjusting the resolution, you can now click "Apply" or OK.

Then the resolution will be adjusted to whatever resolution you like.
