Help on my Windows 7 Gadgets

I am seeking for help regarding my gadgets on Windows 7, that suddenly stops working.  These gadgets are arranged vertically on my Sidebar, but its movable.

These are the clock, calendar, currency and many more from windows media player plug in. But lately, I can’t seem to load my gadgets correctly. Whenever I try to open it,  only a black box appears the same size as my gadgets. It was like a border box for each one with x button on the side but sometimes it doesn't have x only black box.

The error appears even if I disable then re-enable them.  I even tried a system restore but it does not work. I turned my UAC on and fix my registry, but none of them helps. This thing only works if I add another profile or user account on my computer. But there are too many files on my account and I don't want to lose it or waste my time transferring it to the new account. So I would rather fix this error. I am running HP Pavilion P7m Series with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit OS, Intel Celeron Processor 450 2.2GHz, 512Kb L2 800 MHz FSB, 2GB DDR3. This is a good deal from HP and I never have any problems except for this.

Is there anyone out there who can help me fix this? Please help.

Hello John,

There is a very easy solution of your problem. Please do the following steps:

1. Click start menu and click on control panel tab to go there.

2. Select Program and features.

3. On the left top of the window, select turn windows feature on or off.

4. Down the scroll bar, you will find a check box named Windows Gadget Platform.

5. At first check it off. Click ok. (feature will be uninstalled).

6. Reboot the computer.

7. To install the feature again, check on the checkbox again with the above procedure mentioned above and click ok.

8. Reboot your computer again.

I think, your problem has been solved.
