My gateway PC is not responding

Hi,

I am having trouble with my touch screen gateway PC. It always turns to a black screen and does not respond. I already checked the ports and plugs and also did some unplugging and then plugged it again to my computer, but it is still not working. I need to know the following:

·         What is the cause of this problem?

·         How much will it cost if I am to ask for assistance from a service center?

·        If I send the PC back to Gateway, how long will it take to fix the problem?

It is also important to note that the time and expense is very significant for me because I will be using my computer for my school work.

Hi,

This can be caused by a number of reasons. You may have a defective operating system causing the hang up on the computer, or that black screen. It may be caused by a faulty hardware which can cost you a few dollars to a few hundred dollars depending on which arts need to be services and replaced.

Try restarting your PC. If it automatically goes to a black screen after POSTing, restart again and hit F8 and go to safe mode. If it goes to safe mode, one of your software is causing this, which includes an operating system corruption. If it doesn’t even show you a POSTing screen, or a Gateway logo right after turning it on, then it could be your display that’s the problem or your graphics unit.

Thank you. Hope this helps.

Hello Bernad,

I am glad that you have raise your query here. You have really to spend a few bucks to repair your pc but if it is under warranty there is nothing to pay. I am hoping that your problem will be solved. To know how many days and how much it really cost you must call the data service center and ask them. But I think it will take long 5 to 10 days before it will be fully repaired.

Thank you.
