Multiple installs of Office license question

I borrowed an MS Office CD and it can only be used in a limited number of devices, including my laptop. But I had to delete everything from my laptop. If I reinstall Office using the borrowed CD, will it regard my laptop as a different device or will it know that it is the same one?

Whenever we install purchased software in our system. the software reads the machine tag or machine identification number for its licensing issue. So if you re-install the software then the software will check the machine tag or machine code first the if it found that the machine tag is pre- registered the it will not re- charge for registration or license issue.

I hope you can understand.

Thanks

If you already used the CD to install the operating system on the laptop before, then it should be able to be used again to install the operating system on it. That will be because the Mac address is the one that determines the computers that you used the operating system on and therefore it is the limiting factor to the number of the machines that you can use the operating system on. Therefore when you format the machine, the Mac address does not change and therefore the CD should be able to work on it without causing any kind of problem.
