MS Word File is Corrupted

I was trying to access a document from one computer to another I saved the file under the 2010 version of MS Word.

When I opened the file, it says, The file is corrupt. What will I do the retrieved the data?

MS Word File is Corrupted

There are many different ways by which you can recover your corrupted file. Firstly make the copy of corrupted file and transfer it to removable disk, this will prevent it from becoming worst. After that you can use recovery tool that will be helpful to recover your corrupted file.

Other options like using word text convertor, using CHKDSK, extracting the raw data from your file will also be helpful. Try these options one by one and you will find the solution. Thus this software will help recover all important data and your data will not be lost, the files become corrupted because of many reasons.

MS Word File is Corrupted

You can try following methods to retrieve data from corrupt documents.

1. Start MS Word in Safe Mode.
2. Try Force recovery to repair corrupt file.
3. Try any 3rd party Word repair tool.

1. Start MS Word in Safe Mode: You can do this by Start->Run->winword /safe->Ok.

To verify that problem has been fixed, click on File and then Open, select & open corrupt file.

2. Try Force recovery to repair corrupt file: To do this, follow these steps:

• click File on the Ribbon, and then click Open.
• In the Open dialog box, click to highlight your Word document.
• Click the arrow on the Open button, and then click Open and Repair.

3. Try any 3rd party Word repair tool: If above two methods fail to repair corrupt word document then I will suggest you try Word repair software from Stellar Phoenix.
