MS office professional plus 2010 communication error (0×80072EE2)

Hi,

I have recently installed the MS office professional plus 2010, and the installation went very smoothly.

Now when I try to run the program I see an option to activate it via the internet.

When I select this option, I am met with the following error on my screen:

The error says:

A communication error has occurred. Please verify that you have connectivity to the internet and try again. (0×80072EE2)

I have checked the internet connection, and it is intact. I have adjusted my firewall settings several times but of no use.

Has anyone else also experienced such a problem?

Please do let me know if anyone has a solution to this issue. I'll be really thankful.

Hi,

You can actually try this way. There are lot errors that are reported to Microsoft about the update related error. The error that you got is again related to updates only. You can actually try this procedure.

Execute the below commands and check again.

1. proxycfg -d 

2. net stop wuauserv

3. Delete all files and folders in

C:WINDOWSSoftwareDistribution

 

4. net start wuauserv

Hi there user:

This error message occurred because the firewall software blocks the attempt to connect to the server through your Internet connection. The activation cannot connect to an internal Microsoft server to transfer the activation I.D.

Restart your unit in Windows Safe Mode While Networking. Below is how you’ll do it.

Shut-down Restart

(Now while your computer is in the progressing to restart, press F8 just before the Windows open)

Highlight the Safe Mode with Networking and then press Enter.

Now activate the software.

Many thanks for providing an excellent solution! Edmund Joseph, your solution got me to thinking and now I realize why this problem is ongoing. Your step by step process was very helpful and now I am able to install MS Office Professional Plus 2010 without any error message.
