Please let me know what would be the best way to open MS Office databases in Open Office and set this as a default. I also want to save my work in the Open Office database and open it in MS Office. Is there a way to set this in default?

If what you mean is opening the forms, queries and reports that one associates with the database application, then penOffice.org will not actually work with a MS Access database that way. It will only allow you to work with the data, to read from it, update the data and also insert the data into the tables in other words.

However, in case you are working with it now then you should be having an MS Access database which has been setup as a runtime by the developer, and with that you can be able to just keep using it, and then you can later on create a Base file that will be able to allow it to connect to the MDB file and then use the data that is in OpenOffice.org reports.
