Monitoring Server Routes when Route is Down

Is there a way for me to monitor network routes when the route is down (I mean to receive an alert when route is down)? I am using a Zenoss 3.2.1 and when I go to:

Infrastructure > Devices > Pick up device > Components > Network Routes option for monitoring is inactive (below is a screenshot).

Is this normal? Please clarify.

Monitoring Server Routes when Route is Down

The screenshot is not visible on your questions. But here also a solution I suggest you. Use the following software to monitor your routs ups and down. It is Rout plotter.

I think it's features have your desired criteria. Actually continuously it monitors your server routs so it detect also servers ups and downs perfectly.

I justify Zenoss 3.2.1 alerting process. Seems like it's OK. So don't take hesitations on your mind. It's also a reliable and one of the best rout monitoring software.
