Hello Friends,

I am herewith posting an error message about an error message, which I am facing on one of my Windows 7 machine.

I had been able to work with Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 perfectly fine before. Now after the upgrade of my PC, whenever I try to launch the application it throws up an error message.

Microsoft Visual Studio

Unknown Error

I hardly can make out anything, from the error message.

Does anyone have an idea on this?

I suggest that, when you use the Wizard to make some codes of add- in,  make sure to register your add-in for all the persons who might use your computer.  It is best to  select, “ Add in available to all users”.

You can try to fill the  XML registration, by simply putting  Add-in on the folders classified in the “Tools” ; then click “Options” tab ; select “Environment” ; Choose “Add-in/Macros Security” portion. For all users folder command : %ALLUSERSPROFILE%Application DataMicrosoftMSEnvSharedAddIns

And for the original  user otype:  "%VSMYDOCUMENTS%AddIns, where %VSMYDOCUMENTS%

belongs to the folder  “Visual Studio 2005Addins”  inside the users folder.

Take note of that, when the Add-in is not displayed  in the Add-in Manager of the application.  It only means that Visual Studio 2008 couldn’t’ find the Add-in file because it didn’t introduce in the older Visual Studio version.
