MS-Office 2010 Student Version is not included on the package. We are doing mail merging assignment that uses MS-Access for the database. I don't want to purchase complete Professional Edition because I have those softwares necessary for my assignment. My question is, can I purchase MS-Access alone to pack with my 2010 package?

You should try to download portable office 2010. Please search on Google for the portable office 2010 free download and I am sure you will find a download link for that.
Portable office 2010 means that you don’t need to install it on your system just execute the Access file and start working on it. You may download the Portable office 2010 from the below mentioned linked as well.

I am not so sure if that is possible because ms office 2010 should come with all the packages embedded:- which should include ms excel. You just need to get a copy of ms office that has all the packages and install it on your computer and I presume that there could be softwares of ms office that could be downloaded for free online.
But that is entirely a bit strange because even the trial versions of ms office should be having all the packages with them, just try going to the programs list again and look for ms office and search for excel, it should be there.
