Hello friends!

I met an error while using Microsoft Access. I am not able to save the record that I added into the database. The error message tells me" Errors were encountered during the save operation. Indexes were not added or changed". See below the screen shot of the error for better view of my problem.

Microsoft Access

Errors were encountered during the save operation. Indexes were not added or changed.

I checked on the Microsoft Access whether I have some rights on the database, but the problem still persists. I tried rebooting my computer and after which I tried to do the same task, but still it cannot save my file. Please help me with this post. Thanks a lot.

Hey friends,

This error occurs when you have exceeded the maximum number of columns allowed in a table. This error may also occur if you have exceeded the maximum number of locks for a single file.

The indexed property of a field of the table was changed from Yes (Duplicates OK) to Yes (No Duplicates) when duplicate data are present in the table.

Try making the changes to the index and default value separately. It seems that the error occurs when you try to save the changes for both things at the same time. You save after each change to remove this error.

Cheers.

If the post above didn’t worked either, you may also try uninstalling Microsoft Access from your machine. The error is probably caused by some corrupted files in the system. After removing the program, check your computer for any possible errors.

Use a disk utility application to check the system. For a much thorough diagnostics on the system, use a disk utility application like Norton SystemWorks or PC Tools Performance Toolkit.

Then after the disk check, install the application again. This will fix any corrupted files in the installation and restores the settings back to default.

Try it again after reinstalling the program. You may also try checking your machine for possible virus infection. Update your antivirus then run a full system scan on your computer.
